Entry gate to the Maestrazgo, with convoluted and fanciful streets that go up and down the side of a gentle hill at the foot of Sierra de Majalinos (1,600m) with icy winds that perfectly cure its famed hams, meat products and artisan cheeses.
Standing out in its town centre is theChurch of Santa María la Mayor (16th century), with its defensive tower built by the Calatravos; the 16th-century city hall, with fourrounded segmental arches opening the market place; and a series of sober and elegantmansions.
